A star from the new film now streaming on Prime Video is barely recognizable from their role in the Netflix sensation, Stranger Things.
The Map That Leads To You is now available for streaming on the platform. The story centers around Heather, a young woman embarking on a European adventure with her best friends before settling into her meticulously planned life.
When she crosses paths with Jack, a mysterious and captivating stranger, their immediate connection sets off an emotional journey neither of them expected. As their bond deepens, secrets, life choices and hidden truths will challenge their connection and transform her life in ways she never imagined.
The film is directed by Lasse Hallstrom, who also directed the movie Dear John. It’s an adaptation of the novel of the same name by JP Monninger, described as a tale about love, destiny and the courage to choose your own path.
Leading the cast is KJ Apa, known for his role as Archie Andrews in Riverdale. Alongside him is Outer Banks and Glass Onion star Madelyn Cline.
However, Cline previously had a now-overlooked role in one of Netflix’s biggest shows, Stranger Things. It’s not surprising that some fans don’t immediately recognize her, not just because it was a supporting role but also because the star was almost unrecognizable.
She played Tina, a character who appeared in the second season of the popular show, set to wrap up later this year. She shows up in two episodes – the premiere titled MADMAX and the follow-up called Trick Or Treat, Freak.
Tina was a student at Hawkins High School who hosted a Halloween bash at her home in October 1984. She’s shown noticing and becoming one of several girls immediately attracted to Billy Hargrove when he arrives.
Billy even shows up at her party, along with many other recognizable students from the main cast. This includes Nancy, Steve, Billy, Tommy H and Jonathan. Tina is seen welcoming her guests while dressed as Madonna from her Like A Virgin music video.
According to FanWire, her small role in Stranger Things, while also working on The Originals, convinced Cline to drop out of college and pursue her acting dreams.
She said, “I was in college driving back and forth from Myrtle Beach to Atlanta to work on The Originals and Stranger Things, and I realized that something had to give. I wanted to at least try to pursue it full-time. So, I ended up dropping out, packing my car up, and leaving for LA.”
