The Wales family is moving from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge, but don’t let the names fool you both are pretty pristine
There’s been talk of the Wales family eventually outgrowing their four-bedroom home in Windsor, England and eventually needing a bigger house, and that time has come, says a source close to the family.
Prince William and Princess Kate are preparing to relocate their family to a new Windsor residence before year’s end, according to an insider.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, together with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are reportedly planning to move into the eight-bedroom Forest Lodge home in Windsor Great Park, reports Daily Express UK.
A source revealed the family is seeking a “fresh start” at the residence, which offers more space than their current Adelaide Cottage home. The family reportedly views the property as their “forever” residence.
Construction work is currently taking place at the property to prepare it for the family’s arrival before the year concludes.
The Wales family is moving homes
The Sun reports that planning documents reveal minor work has already commenced at the Grade-II listed lodge, with renovations reportedly being financed by the couple personally.
“This is a move for the long-term. They see it as their forever home,” the source said.
A source familiar with the family reportedly told the tabloid: “Windsor has become their home. However, over the last few years while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage, there have been some really difficult times.”
“Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind,” the source said.
They are staying in Windsor
The family initially relocated to Windsor in 2022, where they established themselves at the modest Adelaide Cottage. The family’s relocation from London was reportedly to be nearer to the late queen, who passed away just weeks later, and to provide a more normal lifestyle with increased privacy for the children.
Currently, the family does not have any live-in staff at their residence, and this is expected to remain the same once they transition into their larger home.
