The Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky rivalry is about to reach new heights, as the 2025 matchups between the two teams are being moved to United Center to accommodate an unprecedented surge in fan interest.
Following last season’s record-breaking viewership and attendance—largely driven by Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese’s rising stardom—the Sky have relocated their home games against the Fever from Wintrust Arena to the much larger United Center.
This move marks a historic first for the WNBA, as these two games will be the first-ever WNBA matchups played at United Center, home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks.
A Venue Built for Record-Breaking Crowds
United Center has a maximum capacity of nearly 21,000 fans, more than double the seating available at Wintrust Arena, which holds 10,400.
The decision to relocate the games came after Clark herself publicly pushed for a venue change last season, expressing her belief that the demand for Fever-Sky matchups far exceeded the capacity of smaller arenas.
Now, her wish has become reality.
“Given the explosive growth in the WNBA, we now have a first-ever opportunity to invite more fans to experience this matchup at a larger venue,” Sky president and CEO Adam Fox said in a press release.
“Chicago Sky fans have consistently shown up for the team and the city, and we want to reward their passion and dedication by bringing this excitement to an expanded capacity. We know Skytown will help us create a special environment at the United Center this summer.”

Potential for Record WNBA Attendance
With Clark and Reese headlining the rivalry, these matchups could become some of the highest-attended WNBA games in decades.
For reference:
- The Washington Mystics set a season attendance record in 2024, drawing 20,711 fans to a game against the Fever at Capital One Arena.
- The Mystics have since committed to playing four games at Capital One Arena this upcoming season.
- The WNBA all-time attendance record was set in 2000, when over 22,000 fans packed the Palace of Auburn Hills for the WNBA Finals.
